Can someone tell me how to add a pic on the left of my post, and how to edit my signature.

Sure!

If you look at the forum menu bar which is located just below where it says "Global Mapper Trial" you will see a link titled "User CP" click that link. On the new page that loads, look on the left nav bar under "control panel" and you'll see "edit profile picture" and further down "edit signature"
