Problem exporting shapefile format

I've been bringing shapefiles into Global Mapper, doing edits, and then exporting as new shapefiles. Suddenly I'm finding I can't export as shapefile format any more. I go through the export process, everything looks good, but then when I look for the new shapefile, I find that it never saved. When I export the same file in another format, there's no problem. And yes, I tried restarting the computer. Any ideas?

    Charles,

    What type of features (i.e. points, lines, and/or areas) are in your input files and which type(s) of Shapefiles are you selecting to export? If you for example had only line features in your input and were exporting area Shapefiles, you wouldn't get any results.
