GeoTiff Extents - Reported by Global Mapper

This is not a critical issue because I can manually read the extents of the TIF area and type the coordinates.
Global Mapper appears to report the metadata that comes from USGS Seamless 24K GeoTiff maps, even though there is extensive whitespace surrounding the graphic area.
Is there a workaround, either at Seamless or with Global Mapper to capture the true extents of the graphical area?
PS, I use Global Mapper mainly as a bridge and useful utility when delivering DRG maps into Mapwel. Mapwel wraps up all of the DRG, vectorized additions, and revectorizes the total as a great .IMG.
Thanks

I'm not quite sure what you mean. Where in Global Mapper are you getting extents reported that don't match what you see on the screen?
Thanks,
Mike
