Save/Retrieve

Hi: I am new to GM. I am working with 67 LiDAR .las files (2.4 GB zipped and 9.6 GB unzipped). It takes many hours to extract, read, and grid the files. The topog is beautiful, but when I try to retrieve the saved workspace I get an error on each of the 67 files (Unkown type value [elevation] in import archive command, using auto), and all that comes up is the point cloud. How do I save the workspace so that it pulls in the topog when I load workspace.
I have also tried saving the workspace as a map catelog, but it really does not buy me anything because I typically need the entire view.

What version of Global Mapper are you using that is giving you this error?
In any case, I would suggest using the File->Batch Convert/Reproject menu command to batch convert your Lidar LAS files to Global Mapper Grid (GMG) files (make sure to use fractional elevation units, like decimeters or centimeters, so you maintain the necessary precision). Once those GMG files are created, you can quickly load those to get a gridded display of the terrain.
Let me know if I can be of further assistance.
Thanks,
Mike

I tried it on a single file -- works great. Very nice program and great support.
Thank you
