generate areas & polylines

Hi,
I would like to generate automaticaly areas from some layers I import in Global Mapper.
For example, I would import a layer " forest " (forest zone would be green color in white background)
From this image file (bmp ou png), I would like to generate areas to export them in shapefiles.
By layer I mean : image where only forest zone is visible and filled with green color.
I would like the same way with my roads, I would have a layer with colored roads and I would like Globbal mapper to recognise the color and transform it in polylines.
Has anyone an idea how to do this ?
Thanks,
Andy

Andy,
There is not any support for automatic vectorization of raster data in Global Mapper. I believe that most people use an application called R2V for vectorizing raster data.
Thanks,
