EQR projection with a constant earth radius

While I am very comfortable using the batch reproject, I have a need to define the earth radius used for my EQR projection. I find that when I use choose to "Create New Datum" and choose a "Sphere Radius 6370997 m", the resultant geotiff is missing crucial information. Global Mapper does not know anything about the projection of the output file. It should at least indicate that it is spherical and the radius (axis), right?

    If Global Mapper does not know the EPSG code to use for the datum used for the export (which it would not for a custom datum), no projection or datum information will be written to the file as the necessary values are not known. Global Mapper never writes out spheroid parameters to a GeoTIFF file.
