Export / Print Range Scales

Is there a way to position and change the size or appearance of the range scale bar? How would I get it to show up in a screen captured image or exported file (Geotiff or other)? When I export to GeoTiff I see a scale bar that is much smaller in relative size than it appears onscreen. I would really prefer to move it and place it in the data area. Thanks for your help.

    You can right click on the scale bar and move it to the right-side of the image. The scale bar will always be a certain number of pixels in size (i.e. the same number of pixels on screen as in an export), so in exports with very small detail it will small when zoomed out on the image.

    What I would suggest is either using the File->Print menu command and printing to a file. This will scale the scale bar to keep it the same number of inches in size rather than pixels.
