Database Query

I've loaded a shapefile into the application. Is there any way that I can create a query to filter data on one of the layers?

    You can use the Search->Search by Attributes menu command to query the data from your Shapefile.

    IC. Can I do something like this - (elevation>100) and (age>10)

    You can currently only search on one attribute at a time. In our next release we plan to add support for nested queries that would allow for something like what you describe.

    Do you have an estimated date for the release? Will that be in version 9 or a new version?

    That update would be in the v10 release, which should be out in late summer.

    What is your policy on updates? I was planning on buying a few licenses for the product today but now have pause. If I buy them now and you do a late summer release of version 10 will I be able to update for free or will there be a charge?

    For users purchasing within a few months of a major upgrade, we typically offer the upgrade for just the price difference between the current release and the next release. This way there is no penalty for purchasing licenses just before a major upgrade.
