Issue of unit selection on distance scales

I have GM 9.03 installed with both General "Distance Measure Units" and Projection "Planar Units" set to nautical miles. My current application is a marine environment where folks measure distances in nmi and depths in metres.

The issues are as follows:

1. For some reason the 3D (bathymetric) transect plot is showing up with the range scale in kilometres, and I have no way to change it.

2. The only options available for the distance scale on the main plot seem to be kilometres and statute miles.

Am I overlooking any buried options that would help me set these to nmi? Assuming it's not covered. I have recollections that I could get nmi to show up back in GMv8, but if not, could this please be added?

Regards,

Jeff

    Jeff,

The distance scale in the path profile dialog has always been either metric or statute based on what the elevation units were displayed in. I have decided to de-couple those and make the distance scale, both on the path profile dialog and on the main map view when a scale is displayed, depend on the currently selected distance measure units (which includes nautical units). However, we have now moved onto v10 release and this change affects enough stuff that I can't easily put it in a new v9 build, so for now you'll have to wait until v10 is released (or in beta) to get this change.

Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

    Thanks,

    Mike

    Mike,

I'm pleased to hear the scales will be simplified and rationalized. Looking forward to V10... my next application will probably use kilometres and feet. :)

    Thanks,

    Jeff
