BigTIFF support

Any plans for adding read/write support for BigTIFF? (BigTIFF version of libtiff library)

    There are not any short term plans to use the BigTIFF library. I actually have yet to see anyone actually using the BigTIFF format so I'm not sure if the demand is there yet to justify it. Of course, anyone can add BigTIFF support on their own at any time by developing a raster import and/or export plugin for that format.
