exporting to magellan explorist 500

Is it possible to export maps to a magellan explorist 500 and if so what needs to be done? Has anyone had success with it?

    I am not aware of any software that can generate new maps for a Magellan Explorist. Perhaps someone else here knows if this is possible?

    Magellan GPS devices has very complicated map format. There are "subfiles", containing different types of data - text descriptors of features, Raima database files with geometry etc.
    So, you can't simply export some vector data to any format and load it to Magellan - you have to build map project, describe zoom levels, object types etc.
    If you need to make maps for Magellan, visit this site GPS tools and look at AddMagMap software and some articles in Explorist section.
