Background Color other than White?

Now that I'm working with glaciers (white) they disappear into the white default background. I opened the Configuration Dialog and played with all the logical tabs, no luck.
I'm working with shape files, no elevations. The color needs to be subtle so I don't lose the flowline detail.
Is their a solution?

You can simply change the view background color with the View->Background Color menu command so that your data has better visibility.
Let me know if I can be of further assistance.
Thanks,
Mike

The default light-gray seems better for both, glaciers sure showup.
Thanks
