Black screen after processing step/saving

I've encountered a recurring issue in Global Mapper (version 26.0+26.1) when working with large LiDAR datasets (GMGs and catalogs). When running operations like "Combine Terrain Layers," the process completes, but the display turns completely black afterwards. The program doesn't fully crash either. I can still move the cursor and see it change icons when hovering over the different tools. However, I'm unable to view any data or continue processing. If I click anywhere after that, then the program usually becomes unresponsive and crashes.

This issue also occurs after saving the workspace. The GMG dataset loads fine initially, and the problem only occurs after processing. This black screen isn't limited to Global Mapper; it affects other windows outside the software as well. This has been happening since I've updated to Windows 11.

Has anyone encountered this issue before or know of any fixes/workarounds?

    Hi Axel,

    Is it possible that you are running out of system memory or something? The fact that Windows outside of GM are affected makes me think that some kind of system resource is getting very low.

    Perhaps there are some clues in your errlog.txt generated by GM?
