Global Mapper v26.2 Beta is now open!

The Global Mapper Beta 26.2 download and license, linked below, is valid from September 2, 2025 to October 3, 2025. Please use this time to thoroughly test the software, with specific focus on the newly added functionality.

Check out the new features:

  • Dockable File Browser pane for easy access to file directories.
  • Found in the File toolbar, the file browser opens a dockable pane to navigate to system data directly in Global Mapper
  • New Animation Toolset for improvements to creating, managing and recording animations
  • The animation toolset can be accessed with a new button added to the Viewer toolbar or from the Tools dropdown menu
  • Expanded Digitizer Toolset
  • Opened from the Digitizer toolbar, the Digitizer Toolset now contains quick access to vertex editing and information/statistic tools. 
  • Added file format support including IIQ 
  • Direct support of Phase One's IIQ image format. Users can directly open and IIQ images without converting them to another format beforehand.
  • Lidar Filtering user interface
  • New interfaces for Lidar/Terrain Display Controls are accessed through the Lidar toolbar or Lidar Analysis menu. 
  • These tools allow for dynamic filtering and display controls for loaded data.

  • Description of the error/undesirable behavior
  • Workflow to reproduce the error
  • Data used (or sample data in the case of any proprietary datasets)
  • Report error messages with as much available text as can be copied, or a screenshot
  • Excepted behavior


Including as much information as possible will ensure that a detailed report is provided to our development team to resolve your issue promptly. If you encounter a problem that stops your testing we will try to fix it as soon as possible. Updated builds will be released on this page throughout the beta testing period,
