How to "slice" a point cloud building horizontally instead of vertically (path profile tool)
Hello all,
Its a simple question but one I cannot find a simple answer, I know I can slice a building sideways using the path profile view and its great, but is there a way to do the equivalent on the horizontal plane?
Essentially I am trying to draw a couple of buildings footprints, they are in point cloud format, the buildings have little awnings that don't let me see the actual building size from the top down view, so I must "slice" them at the middle to see the walls cleanly.
There are a couple of ways to manually do this (path profile, select walls, copy paste to new layer, view again etc) but since the buildings are at different levels and some on a steep incline its very time consuming to do this on each one.
Is there any better way to do this?
Any suggestions are welcome.

What you might try is splitting up the layers by the Height Above Ground. For example, select all of the Lidar points with the Digitizer Tool, then right-click and select the Advanced Selection -> Filter Lidar option and then Unselect everything below the min height of the awnings (probably 2-3 meters). Then cut-and-paste what is left to a new layer that you can just turn off when drawing the building outlines.
Thanks,
Mike
