What units are the 'no data' distance in in grid creation

in the grid creation pop up the no data distance can be defined by a slider, the value is given, but it does not seem to be meters. what units is it in?

The units are 'cells' or pixels, so it's basically how large of a gap in the grid cell size that can be filled.
