Unable to reference correctly with 54009 in GM

I downloaded data from : https://human-settlement.emergency.copernicus.eu/download.php?ds=builtC

2018, 10m, Mollweide.

the reference is 54009.

The file itself is a ~60GB geotif. it loads in fine, but 54009 is not recognised and loading projection from a valid file does not produce the right result.

I just want to convert parts of this to wgs84 geographic.

The problem is that Global mapper does not seem to be able to reference this correctly.

if I bring in something standard to test an area against, it is clearly off (i.e. a standard openstreeetmap extract SHP)

I attached the projection file I had to fetch as 54009 was not immediately supported on import (had to zip it to add it here)

no matter what I do, I can not get this data to align with a know reference system correctly.

Worth mentioning, when trying to do this in QGIS, not only is QGIS is an order of magnitude faster at preparing and showing the layer, but QGIS also gets it 100% right off the bat.

The problem in QGIS is exporting. it is so slow that it is basically impossible. The only reason I ever go to QGIS is when GM gets something wrong.

hope someone can provide some insight into how to get this referenced correctly in GM.

I looked at your ProJ file. In GM it is not read. I have a bunch of dead rabbits - I'll see tomorrow. If you have time.))

the ref file is just from : https://spatialreference.org/ref/esri/54009/

nothing from there produces the correct result in GM, for 54009.

Again, QGIS has no problem at all with 54009

is there a solution? GM is not able to project this correctly.

Um! If possible, give a link to a layer that is not correctly projected, I'll see.
