How to divide all area features in a layer evenly

Hi. I have a set of roughly rectangular grids (from the local tax map grid, based on the PLSS system) that I would like to divide evenly into 4 quadrants (NE, NW, SE, SW). I would like to do this for the entire layer all at once. Is this possible in Global Mapper? I tried a tool in another GIS package and it worked OK, but adding the quadrant labels is proving to be a headache.

    Hi David,

    Have you tried simply exporting and then re-importing your data using the Tiling option to divide data into four quadrants (2 rows & 2 columns) as shown below?
