Why doesn't coordinate system work as expected?
I am having trouble verifying that an imported shapefile which uses UTM-17 Original (EPSG 26917) comes into GM which has the coordinate system set to UTM-17 CSRS (EPSG 2958).
To test, I created two points near the extremes of the data in NAD83-Original and saved the coordinates in a CSV file. I then went to the NRCan NTv2 tool to convert them to NAD83-CSRS(1998 specifically). The results went into a second CSV file. Both files are attached.
I would expect that if I import the files into GM and chose the correct coordinate system each time, the points would be on top of each other, but they are not. Am I doing something wrong?
