Native Scripting Language - Select and Delete features from a Layer

Hi,

I would like, using the native scripting language, to select features (using a SPATIAL_OPERATION) from a layer and delete them.

As far as I know the SPATIAL_OPERATION can create a new layer.

How can I remove the selected features from the original layer?
