Keeping feature styles and symbology when exporting to DWG/DXF

Hello,

I work with dwg/dxf files in GM and when I export them I loose all the symbology and feature styles. I have tried different ways to try to keep it, but I haven't been able to get it.

Is currently any support for saving symbol information or fill styles to DWG/DXF files?

If not, is there any plan to implement this capability in the near future?

Regards,

Iñaki

  • Hi,

    +1 on this one.

I would also very much appreciate this capability.

  • Hello,

I'm also interested in this possibility for the .gmp format.

When I export my .gmw project with a custom palette in .gmp, the custom palette is not saved and does not open directly when the .gmp is opened.

As I need to send the .gmp to users who don't have much knowledge of Global Mapper, it would be interesting to be able to have a project that opens with the right visual from the start.

Or is there a way of creating a .gms script that you can drag into Global Mapper and which automatically applies the desired custom style (.clr) to the selected layer groups ?

    Best regards

  • At the very least Global Mapper should export entities for CAD with the attributes all set to ByLevel. Then if you change the layer description to match the destination CAD file layers, you'll get better data.
