Global Mapper v26.0

Selected vectors disappear from screen instead of being highlighted

Days ago, I noted that selecting vectors (points, lines or polygons) started to result in these vectors becoming invisible. I have not found how to remedy this.

For instance, editing points with the digitizer tool normally highlights them with a red square. Now, instead of the red squares, the selected points just disappear. Deselecting them is the only way to make them visible again. This happens with the Digitizer Tool, but also using the SELECT option of the right-click menu from a vector layer.

I first saw this in a file in GM v25.1. But when I open the same file with v24.1 the same occurs. And all the files I open now, or create from scratch, face this issue. What should I do....?

Thanks,

daniel

    Hi Daniel,

That is very odd. Is it possible that you have change the style for the 'Selected Line' type to be an invisible line or something? This would be on the Line Styles tab of the Configuration dialog:

If that doesn't fix it, it's possible there's some combination of settings that is causing this. This would explain why it is also happening in older versions. I can't think of what that option would be, but if you go to the General tab of the Configuration dialog, you can use Restore Default Settings to restore settings to their defaults and see if that helps.

    Thanks,

    Mike

    Hi Mike,

... always helpful, this time again! The selected line settings were ok, as on your screenshot above. But restoring the default settings fixed the issue. Many thanks!
