Looking for DIY Instructions for Making Shaded Relief Maps with Raster Overlays
For a couple of articles about geology for lay readers, I am looking for whatever instructions exist about making shaded refief maps with raster overlays of topographic maps and aerial imagtry using Global Mapper 22. I found an useful guide by a member of the Utah Geological Survey. However, it for an much older version of Global Mapper and, thus, cannot be exactly followed.
What users consoder the best guides for making refief maps with raster overlays that are directly applicable to Global Mapper 22?

I'm not aware of any for global mapper specifically, but Daniel Huffman's Somethingaboutmaps is a great blog with all sorts of tutorials, as well as John Nelson's Arc blog posts. I've applied concepts and workflows from both of these guys to work I do myself in Global Mapper.

P.S. - I have qGIS and ArcPro both at work, but I still prefer to adapt their workflows to Global Mapper instead of following along in the software they're using.
