Hi, Is it possible to add to a point feature a link to a folder, rather than to a file?

I have too many images of a point feature, and it would be easier to have a link to the folder that contains them, instead of linking indivdualy each one of them. Thanks!

  • Yes! Create your point layer. When the window comes up look in the feature Attributes section for "Add/Edit Notation". Another window will open. In Windows 10, open File Explorer and navigate to the folder you want available to you in your point layer. With the folder SELECTED, look close to the upper most left corner for Copy Path (screenshot attached). Minimize File Explorer and have the New notation box selected. Hit Ctrl V to paste the path you copied into the notation box. BE SURE TO REMOVE THE " on the front and end of the path you pasted. Click OK. When you use the Feature Info tool on your created point, the Feature Information window will appear. Double click on the line that says Notation. Your folder will open will and you can select any file you want within that folder.
