Blue Marble’s Global Mapper 25.0 Beta build has been updated with changes based on user feedback. The Beta License has been extended until September 26th.

This version includes improvements based on feedback gathered during the first weeks of this beta period. If you are a user that reported an issue to beta@bluemarblegeo.com please attempt to reproduce your error.

NEW! Release Notes for Global Mapper Pro 25.0 Beta:

NEW! Custom Point Cloud Classification

• Located in the new Automatic Point Cloud Analysis Dialog, and can be activated by checking the box labeled "Enable Custom Feature Models"
• This new suite of tools allows users to collect training samples from point clouds based on selected points. Each training sample should represent a variation of a definable class of objects and can be used to create a new user trained feature model Class.
• The new Class will appear on the Features to Classify list in the Classification tab to be used along with our staple Feature Classes, such as Vegetation and Buildings.
• Training Samples can be added and removed, and the new Class can be retrained on-the-fly

Image Paint Tool

• Located on the Analysis Toolbar next to Terrain Painting
• This tool adds a simple suite of Paint tools for Palette and non Palette Raster Images

Python Script Builder

• The Existing Script Builder has had Python added as an option

Auto Styling for Vector Feature Layers

• Vector features will now receive unique styling by default

Support for High DPI Display

• Automatically active, no settings required

Tree Coverage Polygon generation from Lidar Extraction

• New options in the Extraction Menu
• Generates vegetation footprints and 3D models in a manner similar to what is done with buildings. Footprints and 3D models have attributes for surface area (tree crown), volume, ground coverage area, and max height
• Original Functionality of Coverage Polygons accuracy has been improved

QC Tool for elevation data

• Located on the Analysis Tool bar next to the Watershed tool

Find Least Cost Path Analysis

• Located in the Terrain Analysis Dropdown menu

Calculate flattest area for pad site placement

• Ability to find the flattest area for a pad site has been added to the Site Flatten Parameter Setup Dialog

Updated Pixels to Points Wizard UI

• For ease of use we have updated and improved the Wizards UI

*Pixels to Points updated with greater speed than previous Beta Build*

• We have worked on speeding up P2P and will be adding more changes throughout Beta
• Please stay updated with the latest beta release

Added option to create a sparse point cloud when automatically creating a dense point cloud in Pixels to Points

• Option has also been added to the Pixels to Points Wizard

Added Python module support version for v3.10

• Both 3.9 and 3.10 are available in the Global Mapper Installer

Added support Vector Obstructions/Features for Watershed Analysis

• The Watershed Operation now has options to take vector features into account

Cross Validation added to Variograms and Kriging

• Options for this new Functionality has been added to the Variography and Kriging Menus

Lidar Classification dialog unification

• The Dialogs for existing Grid Method and Segmentation Method Classification now share Dialogs

Added Ground Lidar Segmentation Method classification

• Lidar ground classification has been updated to include the segmentation method as an option
• *Parameters for segmentation and classification dialog properly passed into processing methods*

• Workflow to reproduce the error
• Data used (or sample/dummy data in the case of any proprietary datasets)
• Report error messages with as much available text as can be copied, or a screenshot.
• Expected behavior

Including as much of this information as possible will ensure that we can get a detailed report to our development team and resolve your issue promptly. Updated builds will be released throughout the beta testing period, so if you encounter a problem that stops your testing, we’ll try to get a fix out as soon as possible.

If you are interested in beta testing Global Mapper and Global Mapper Pro v25.0, please download the updated software and license. You will have access to the updated beta release today with a license that is valid until September 19th, 2023. Please use this time to thoroughly test the software, with a specific focus on the newly added functionality.
