combine lines in SHP file

I have drawn the contours of a complex waterbody . But it consists of 2 individual parts saved into a single SHP file that I want like to join now . How to do this?

Hello! You click on one of the parts first, than holding a Ctrl you click on the second part - they both will light up. Than click with a right mouse button, select 'Crop/Combine/Split Functions', than select 'COMBINE'. For line features you can agree on default settings and click Ok two times afterwards.
