Blue Marble’s Global Mapper 24.1 Beta build has been updated with changes based on user feedback.

This version includes improvements based on feedback gathered during the first weeks of this beta period. If you are a user that reported an issue to beta@bluemarblegeo.com please attempt to reproduce your error.

Updated Release Notes for Global Mapper Pro 24.1 Beta:

Beta of Python commands added to the Script Builder

• Open the Script Builder from the FileMenu to see a new set of buttons in the toolbar. One sets the Builder to Python, and the other sets it to GMS

Viewer for Mobile Data Merge tool

• A new View button has been added to the Mobile Data Merge tool. This opens a visual interface for merging files

Mobile Data Merge now works with already loaded data

Kriging Updates

• Export publication quality plots to file from Variography and Kriging
• Can be found under Empirical Variogram Plot Options
• Calculate Theoretical Model fit automatically
• Under Theoretical Variogram Data Models the calculated best fix model is automatically selected, but can be changed
• Add output option to record summary stats and graphics from Variography and Kriging tool

Cloud/mesh to cloud/mesh Distance Evaluation added to the Compare Point Cloud tool

• “Differences Report” checkbox option Creates report windows

Added Calculate Relative Elevation Model (River Elevation Model)

• With terrain and selected line feature, this tool becomes available in the Analysis Menu
• Custom Shader Options updated to match REM shader elevations

Pile Volume results can be added to attributes

• "Add Feature Attributes" button has been added to results dialog

Lidar Pole Classification Updated to use segmentation method

• Segmentation Method has been added to Auto-Classify Non-Ground Lidar Points
• Original Pole Classification is still in Auto-Classify Powerline and Pole Points

Inset Map option added to Map Layout Editor

• Inset Element added to the Insert Menu

Added support for Generic Re-sampling Grids / Convolution Filters

• New Analysis menu option “Apply Convolution Filter to Layer”
• Added option to disable normalization of custom convolution filter weights

New Pixels to Points Setup Wizard (early version)

• Setup Wizard Opens when Pixels to Points tool is activated
• Setup Wizard Can be skipped on the first Dialog
• Bypass P2P Wizard option is in the Configuration menu under General>Advanced

• Description of the error/undesirable behavior
• Workflow to reproduce the error
• Data used (or sample/dummy data in the case of any proprietary datasets)
• Report error messages with as much available text as can be copied, or a screenshot.
• Expected behavior

Including as much of this information as possible will ensure that we can get a detailed report to our development team and resolve your issue promptly. Updated builds will be released throughout the beta testing period, so if you encounter a problem that stops your testing, we’ll try to get a fix out as soon as possible.
