Choosing file type on Elevation Export

Hello.

I am trying to export elevation to Erdas Imagine File via scripting language. I can't find an option to export it as a "24-bit RGB", is this even possible? I found "BYTES_PER_SAMPLE" field but i can only choose 16 or 32 bit.
