GDEM to DTED filenames

earthstarearthstar Global Mapper UserPosts: 6
I'm trying to convert the GDEM terrain files (GeoTIFFs) to DTED format
via a script. It works but the exported filenames have the Lat/Long
appended to the base filename. E.g.,

ASTGTMV003_N37W122_dem.tif
exports to this filename:
ASTGTMV003_N37W122_dem__W122_N37.dt2

Here is a test script for one file:
GLOBAL_MAPPER_SCRIPT VERSION=1.0
UNLOAD_ALL
IMPORT FILENAME="C:\GDEM\ASTGTMV003_N37W122_dem.tif" TYPE="GEOTIFF" ELEV_UNITS="METERS"
EXPORT_ELEVATION FILENAME="C:\GDEM\DTED_via_GM\ASTGTMV003_N37W122_dem.dt2" TYPE=DTED ELEV_UNITS="METERS" DTED_LEVEL=2
UNLOAD_ALL

Any ideas on how to retain the original filenames?

Thanks,

Eric

    Hello Eric,

At the moment, the format of exported DTED tile file names can not be changed. Based on the level, the output is broken up into tiles, and the file names reflect the tile bounds.

    Cheers,
    Bob
