RGB Geotriff surface from a grid

I have created an elevation grid from a lidar point cloud. I also have a UAV aerial that I want to color the grid with.
The end goal is to export a surface GeoTIFF that can be displayed using the colors from the aerial.

My client finds it easier to navigate the project.

So you want , for the GeoTiff file, to read in the same time ELEVATION data and RGB data.
That is not possible for geotiff files (as far as I know).

One close thing to this would be using a 3D pdf that would do the work for small areas.
