How to build a 3D dome for a base in measuring volumes

We are measuring stockpiles inside of silo domes. We're using as-built drawings to create the dome. What is a good way to develop the interior of the dome as a base to measure the product from? We've done a lot of volumes calculations from traditional photogrammetric and LiDAR surfaces, but this is new.

I have the same question.

Hi Guys,
How I'd go about this is basically to create "false contours" at slices through the dome from bottom to top, as per the horizontal lines on your attached cross-section drawing. Assuming that that its a circular dome i.e. has circular base, then the contours will also be circular and if you apply elevations to them you can create an elevation grid from them, as I've shown below and in attached zipped GM package file.
I've created this one using arbitrary radii and elevations as I wasn't able to clearly read the values on your attached cross-section.
Anyhow, that's how I'd go about it... Get back to me if you have any questions.
Cheers,

Thanks, that worked.
