v22 problem with creating points spaced along a line

When I try to create point features spaced along a line using the "Sample featiures at fixed distance interval" command, I get many more points than should be generated based on the parameters I give.  For example, I had a 3 km line and tried to get points spaced every .5 km, and ended up with 1001 points:

Hi JSL, there must be something else going on with your setup as this definitely should not be happening.

I just drew a random line in a metric/cartesian workspace and divided the line at 0.5 km intervals as shown by before and after screenshots (attached).

Suggest you send Helpdesk a package file of your workspace.

Oh yeah, forgot to say I'm running GM V22.0 (b091520) - I noticed you are using a slightly different build (101920). Not sure if that's the problem...

Thanks, I'll ask the help desk.  I just downloaded v22 today, so I'm not sure why today's would be more buggy.
