Save and/or Categorize Filters

This is two different but related feature request:
Save Filters
In the Configuration dialog > Vector Display tab, I can filter Areas, Lines and Points. Because GM remembers the last setting, and does not save that setting to the last file, I get to start over if I need to change the filter. Please allow me to save the filter settings or automatically save the setting as part of the file/workspace.
Categorize Filters
The filters are arranged alphabetically, I'd like to see them arranged by category: Roads, water, etc. Even better, have a single master switch to toogle an entire category. As it is I have to search top to bottom to find every possible road type.
Thanks

I think I can add a simple save and restore mechanism to the filter dialog. I'll try and get that added and point you at a new build when it is ready.
Categorizing the filters has been on the todo list for a while. It's a bigger task under the covers for not much change at the interface level, but hopefully I'll be able to get to it sooner or later.
Thanks,
Mike

I've competed adding load and save buttons on the vector filter dialogs allowing you to easily save your filters to files and restore them later. I have placed a new build at http://www.globalmapper.com/global_mapper9.zip with the change for you to try. Simply download that file and extract the contents into your existing v9.xx installation folder to give it a try.
Let me know if I can be of further assistance.
Thanks,
Mike

Mike,
I'm a little unclear as to what I'm saving since the save appears in the Lines, Areas, Points dialog.
Am I saving all three? Or do I save 3 files, one for each?
Thanks -
Already saved me a lot of work.
In proofing the roads yesterday, several sections of the Interstate were mis-IDed as major Hwy, however the edit tool picked a ramp. I decided to let that be and come back to it. Somehow, brain fart, it got called a RR-1B, which had its line turned off, so undeleting lines wouldn't show the line.
The save filter made it a snap to fix and then go back to my restricted road line filter.
This save filter will also solve a huge pet peeve of mine re GM. I can now have an output filter whereby I always turn off the Lat - Long grid, very cool.
Thanks -
You are saving the individual filters (i.e. a file for the line filter, file for the area filter, etc.). This was much easier for me to do interface-wise and allows greater flexibility.
Let me know if I can be of further assistance.
Thanks,
Mike
