Global Mapper v25.0

find duplicate lines bug

I drew 4 lines (divide them into 2 pairs). the position of each pair completely overlaps.one of the lines is drawn in the reverse direction.
using the "Analysis / Find Duplicate Features" tool can not find the line of the reverse vertex (I hope find line features with completely overlapping positions when the tolerance is 0

Comments

  • Lines with vertices in the same direction can detect duplicates.

Lines with inverted vertices cannot detect duplicates.

    Hello,

I suppose one could make an argument that those features are not, in fact, duplicates, but it seems like it would make sense to at least offer the option of ignoring the direction when comparing vertices.

I suggest that you contact Blue Marble Support directly via email (geohelp@bluemarblegeo.com) to address this issue. Please include a workspace containing your test case, and a screen capture of the options you used. Thanks.

    Cheers,
    Bob
  • You only need to draw a line, then copy and paste it to the original position, and then reverse one of the line, you can not find the result using the "Analysis / Find Duplicate Features" tool.       The result can only be found if the direction of the vertex direction of a line is reversed again so that the directions of the two lines are the same.

If global mapper "Analysis / Find Duplicate Features" tool can ignore the direction of the vertexs and find overlapping lines, global mapper will can replace the arcgis topology check function.

  • Need to find lines with different vertices order but completely overlapping spatial positions.
v22 beta still does not improve this requirement.

    Hello,

I have opened item GM-11304 in our task list to address this. Thank you.
