Global Mapper v25.0

can't create point at origin of line in v20 or 21

In v. 18, I used to be able to create a point at the origin of a line by selecting the line, choosing "Adv Feature Creation->Create Point Features Spaced Along Selected Features", then unchecking the "Keep all original vertices" option and checking the option to Sample Features at Single Fixed Distance, with Sample Distance set at 0 meters .

However, when I do that in v20 and 21, a layer is created in the overlay control center, but there are no points in it.

Thanks for any help...

Also, it used to be in all versions prior to 21, that when I selected the option to create points at the endpoints of lines only, the points were automatically labeled 1 or 2, depending on whether they were at the start or end of the line, but that feature seems to have disappeared.  It was very handy, because it allowed me to separate the points by their position on the line.
