ECW appears blank

Hello, 
I have an issue with opening/importing ECW images. Bare with me please as this is a hard one to explain.
I have no problem with opening any JPG or GeoTiff image. I can import ECW images that I havent created with Global Mapper
However when I try to import an ECW image that I have created with Global mapper into Global mapper the images appear blank, I can open the same ECW file with 12d or Qgis and the ECW appears. There must be a setting or something I have changed that isnt allowing me to view ECW images that I have created with Global Mapper in Global mapper. I have a feeling it has something to do with Make Background (Void) Pixels transparent. 
Where the plot thickens further is that I can open ECW images that I created months ago with Global mapper and they appear as they should, but if I open ECW files with Global Mapper that I created with Global Mapper recently they all appear blank.
Again to experiment I imported the blank ECW into QGIS where it is visible, I exported the ECW as a geotiff and reopened with Global mapper and again the image is blank.
Can someone offer some guidance? What am I missing here?

I suggest that you contact Blue Marble Support directly via email (geohelp@bluemarblegeo.com) for help with this problem. Please provide sample ECW file that can be used to reproduce your issue.
