Scanned historic aerial photos to LiDAR point cloud?
Is it possible to import scanned historic aerial photos (jpg, tiff, etc. without geolocation or camera exif data) and create a half decent point cloud? I have pre-1970 aerials I scanned at very high resolution that I want to use to create a DTM.
Have you tried it to see if it will work? You might have to bring them, reposition so they are mostly correctly overlapped (at the center since the edges are always distorted), and then export with your local grid coordinates on them. Then bring them into generate the surface. Definitely worth a shot. I'm curious to hear if this works.
