filter point cloud by density

I have a dense point cloud with some areas where the points are sparse. How can I select (or filter them) so I can classify them as noise? The Color LiDAR by density does a good job of coloring the sparse points a different color than the other points.

Been playing around with it an watching videos. I found the best way is to make a selection with the digitizer tool then right click and select Advanced Selection Options>Filter Selected Lidar Points by Elevation/Color/Class/Etc... then select the check box for Keep Point Densities Between and enter the range for the desired density and hit OK.
