3Darea cmputation on DSM ? ; scale fonction on path profile - Global Mapper 20

Hi everybody,
Please I would like to know how can I do  the computation of 3Dsurface/area on a digital surface model/digital elevation model ?
- what is the better tool to use ? I try with attibutes and fill volumes but both  results are no coherent.
Second question, how can I apply a fonction in scale path profile ( ex. log in Y or X axis )
I use Global mapper 20 (64bit)
