Save path profile line and save perpendicular path profiles as new layer?

Hello! I was wondering if there's any way to save the path profile line with its corresponding path profile together in a layer? Or at the very least, export the path profile with its path line together as a file? I'd like to be able to refer back to the profile on my map in the future and know where the profile was taken. I also noticed that the option to save perpendicular path profiles as a layer is missing in my File options - I'm wondering if this is due to my not selecting an option somewhere or if this is not an available feature anymore? Thanks so much!!
