Cables and pipelines on GM. Is there any way to?

Hello everybody! I'm pretty new to Global Mapper, I'm still using the evaluation version in order to understand if it suits my needs.

My question is actually pretty simple and any proficient user will know the answer for sure. I use GM primarily to plot XYZ files. The result is a wonderful 3D surface full of hills and slopes.

The question is: is there any way to draw and georeference a linear structure (for example a pipeline or a cable) over the resulting 3D surface? Can I tell the software to model a cable from point A to point B along the surface, so that the cable follows perfectly all the slopes and be georeferenced at the same time? Scripting maybe? Some additional module?
Can anybody point me in the right directions?

Many thanks in advance.

Federico

    Hello,

You can use the Digitizer in the 3D View to draw a line on the surface.  Click the Digitizer button (pencil icon), then right-click and choose Create Line Features | LINE - Create New Line Feature (Vertex Mode).

    Cheers,
