does global mapper can separate data from osm.bz

Hello,

I would like to know if global mapper can separate data (road, water ....) from a full osm.bz file. i know GM can read all information but as JOSM allows only very small aera to manage to download, i wish to know how to separate data because i ll need only few

i mean from OSM file after unziping osm.bz

Hello,

I suggest that you split your features into separate layers based on an attribute value. That will put the features you care about into their own layers, and the others can be hidden, etc. depending on what you need to do.

1. In the Control Center, select your OSM layer
2. Right-click and choose Layer | Split into Separate Layers Based on Attribute Value...
3. Choose the attribute you want to split on (Feature Type or Feature Description might be useful)
