Gridding 3D Vector Data

Hi,

Maybe this isn't a bug but thought I'd mention it. Sometimes when gridding 3D vector data I notice that Global Mapper appears to only grid the outer boundary. It doesn't matter if I manually define the spacing - it just makes a flat plane out of my 3D data. This might be due to the fact the outer boundary is flat. My usual workaround is to grid the data to create a TIN layer and then grid the TIN layer.

By the way I don't why Global Mapper renders the terrain layers so poorly as seen in the last image. It doesn't seem to matter if you increase the grid spacing either.
