Gridding 3D Vector Data

Hi,

Maybe this isn't a bug but thought I'd mention it. Sometimes when gridding 3D vector data I notice that Global Mapper appears to only grid the outer boundary. It doesn't matter if I manually define the spacing - it just makes a flat plane out of my 3D data. This might be due to the fact the outer boundary is flat. My usual workaround is to grid the data to create a TIN layer and then grid the TIN layer.

By the way I don't why Global Mapper renders the terrain layers so poorly as seen in the last image. It doesn't seem to matter if you increase the grid spacing either.

Cheers,
Steve

    Hi Steve,

I suggest that you bring this issue directly to Blue Marble Geographics Support via email (geohelp@bluemarblegeo.com). Please include a detailed description of your workflow and the data you are using to create the terrain grid. Thanks.

    Cheers,
    Bob
