Lidar elevation data to 3dsmax mesh?

For the life of me I can't figure out if this is possible, so I'm wondering if it is at all? I've tried exporting various methods (DXF, FBX, etc) Most of the time 3dsmax just shows a line of vertices. I'm running GlobalMapper v19.0. 
Any help appreciated.

    veddycent Global Mapper User
    Right click Lidar layer -> Analysis -> GRID

    If the Lidar has elevation this should create an Elevation Grid that you can export as a mesh for 3DS
