How to generate shape file of contour grid (not line) from STRM Dem data and edit it ?

We can easily generate contour grid in raster format but could succeeded to make its shapefile and edit it in ArcGIS according to requirements?

Hello,

With your SRTM DEM data loaded you have the following options:

• To create contour lines or areas, use Analysis | Generate Contours (from Terrain Grid)
• To create a set of points for the grid, select your layer in the Control Center, right-click and choose Layer | Create Point Features at Elevation Grid Cell Centers

Once you have created the lines or points, select the associated vector layer in the Control Center and choose Layer | EXPORT - Export Layer(s) to a New File and choose Shapefile from the list.
