can I union two shp' s and keeping the fields in the attribute table?

Hello,
I did a buffer of 6 distances in a road line shape file. and I also have another shp which is the area of interest . I want to make a union to these two without lossing the information of the fields. so I want to use the info tool and check in my union resulting file what value every pixel will have.

    Hello,

It sounds like you want to create one file that contains your buffer areas and the area of interest.  Is this correct?

To do that, you can use File | Export | Export Vector/Lidar Format, then choose Shapefile from the list of formats and choose a file name for the area features.  This will create a shapefile that contains all of the areas and attributes in the current workspace.

    Cheers,
    Bob
