Changing the GDAL_NO_DATA_VALUE

Is there a way of changing the value that gets exported when saving to 32bit elevation tif for the GDAL_NO_DATA_VALUE?

    I have the same question. I am looking at a 32-bit tiff file that is actually trying to represent an 8-bit image where the actual no-data value is zero. How can I set that in GM?
