Limit the cut depth in Cut/Fill calculation

I sifted through the forum to find out if this has been asked/resolved before. I was not able to find any such instance.
Now to my question. I have an area which needs to be levelled. The entire area has a thin soil cover(0.5m). This is the only material i have to work with to fill the low-lying areas. So, is it possible to limit the 'cut' depth while calculating optimised cut\fill volumes?
