How to set the point cloud class

Hello,

is there some way to set certain class (i.e. 9) to all my loaded / being exported LiDAR data?

Such a simple thing but it seems there is no automated way.

Thanks for advice.

    Hello Michal,

Are you asking this question only with reference to the scripting language?  If you have the LiDAR Module, you can use the EDIT_VECTOR command and the LIDAR_CLASS parameter to set the classification.  For example:
    EDIT_VECTOR SHAPE_TYPE="POINTS" LIDAR_CLASS="9"
In the Global Mapper user interface, you can select LiDAR points, right-click, and pick a classification from the list.  This does not require the LiDAR Module.

    Cheers,
    Bob

Adding onto michal's question: How would this code be incorporated into the script for exporting to a different class?

For example in the script below, i am taking all points within a specific scan angle range in class 7, then resetting the points to unclassified. However, I would like the points to go into an alternative class - class 12 - opposed to going into the unclassified class. Is this possible to do with the above EDIT_VECTOR command and LIDAR_CLASS parameter?

    LIDAR_CLASSIFY TYPE="NOISE" LIDAR_SCAN_ANGLE_RANGE="-30,30" LIDAR_FILTER="NONE,7" LIDAR_RESET_NOISE=YES CHANGE_CLASS=YES

    thank you,
    Cole
