Calculating forest cover acreage by parcel?

Calculating forest cover acreage by parcel?
I have parcel shape file for a county and black and white(just pure 0 and 255) raster bitmap for tree coverage.  Is there a Global Mapper workflow that can help me convert that raster to a shapefile and do the calculations? Can GM do any of this?

    Hello Tom,

    It is not clear what calculation you want to perform.  Are you trying to count pixels within each area feature, or is it something different?

    Sort of:  I have a GeoTiff with black fill in the areas where there is tree coverage.  I want to measure the area within a given Parcel (shape) that is covered in black.
